FAO: Rob Charles (Evergray Ltd)

Just a quick note to thank you for the recent extension that was completed on our house. Myself and Emma are extremely pleased with the finished job and can’t fault the work carried out by you and your team over the last few months. Your team started on site first thing each morning and the program you provided us with ran as expected. Your team were always polite and treated our home with respect and always cleaned up at the end of the day.

With the very little experience and knowledge myself and Emma had in this industry your help and advice was invaluable throughout the process.

I would have no problems with recommending your company to family and friends for any building work needed.

Thank you very much,

Owen & Emma David

RE: EVERGRAY LTD

We were undertaking complete refurbishment of a large dwelling in Cardiff City Centre. We live overseas and knew no builders in Wales. The Federation of Master Builders gave us three references. All responded quickly but Evergray Ltd, represented by Robert Lewis gave welcome advice on how to go about the scheme and gave a comprehensive breakdown of costs.

The scheme was problematic at the start due to entirely inaccurate drawings. Mr Lewis, working with us at distance, was instrumental in a complete re-design. Works commenced and, once the design problems were resolved, progressed promptly with meticulous project management by Mr Lewis. Every minor change was recorded and costed in advance so there were no unpleasant surprises or disputes at the end. We knew where we stood in terms of time and cost all times.

Evergray has surrounded itself with first class, reliable and courteous direct labour, sub contractors and suppliers. Mr Lewis put us in touch with kitchen suppliers, bathroom suppliers, tile suppliers. We have no doubt that these introductions saved us a small fortune.

The staff on site were good fun, hard working and patient. Billy the carpenter had to contend with an extremely fussy lady of the house, Wayne the heating engineer should receive a diplomacy award for his handling of the nosey neighbour. We can’t name them all but there were a lot of tradesmen in and out of the house and not a single one of them created disappointment.

The end job is first class. It was completed on time, on budget (except for changes made by the fussy lady) and a final package of all certificate and records was presented. Even after completion, Mr Lewis and his team patiently attended to help with our setting up. They even put up the wardrobes!

We cannot recommend Evergray Ltd highly enough. Well managed, hard working and entirely reliable. Working from overseas could so easily have been a disaster but with Mr Lewis’ meticulous project management it was a painless and successful experience.

I would be delighted to discuss any aspect of the works carried out by Evergray and have authorised Mr Lewis to give my name and contact number to any genuine enquirer.

Hi. I know this has taken me some time to do ,but it has been a traumatic for me in fact, the problem goes back to August last year when I had a fire in my home. Everything was going well with regards to insurance claims ,and I was put up in a hotel while the contractors were working in the house. The trouble started when they found I had a damp problem, and said it was up to me to deal with it. The contractor pulled out, and the insurance offered me a cash settlement. Now I had to find a builder to do the work required

I had several quotes, but was somewhat sceptical about some. I then found Evergray contractors with whom I felt comfortablemand I must that their workmanship was first class, above all they worked in some very difficult situations , as just before Xmas 2010 we had snow, ice, even a closure of the cement plant, which forced them to mix their own concrete. The workers themselves were very polite ,and always on time " Rob" the boss man !!! always kept me informed ,as to the next step, and the price quoted was the the price I paid. I would not hesitate to employ them when required, and will recommend them to anyone.

I tried putting this on youir site , but I failed. Hope it's ok and you can use it, if not let me know. Royden

Dear Mr. Lewis,
I write to express my thanks to you and the men who carried out the work on the property for which I have responsibility. The firm who did the original work on the property was incompetent, and the workmen left a mess behind them. You were asked to redo the work and asked to make improvements where these were necessary. This Evergray did in an exemplary way and the standard of your firm's work was in complete contrast to that of the other builder. In fact I have been told by men in the building trade that your firm had done a splendid job. I was impressed by the attitude of the men who did the work. It was clear that they were interested in what they were doing, and were seeking to carry out the work to a high standard. They were polite and thoughtful, and willing to explain what was being done and why. Evergray must commended for the steps they took to ensure that the site was cleared after the work was completed.
I have already recommended Evergray to a member of my family who is looking for a reliable builder.

Yours sincerely,

D.V. Thomas

Morning Rob

Sorry for the delay in writing this, we have had a couple of hectic weeks.

We would highly recommend Evergray. From the moment I rang to enquire about an estimate to the end of the actual job, everybody turned up when expected and everything ran like clockwork. Steve and Shaun were very professional, they worked non stop all day and cleaned up at the end of the day as well.

The quality of the work was excellent and I am highly delighted with my bigger kitchen.

I would definitely use your company again.

Dear Rob.

Just a quick note to say thank you for the work that you carried out at my property recently. The work you carried out was on the Roof, Fire Wall in the Attic, The Walls in the Toilet (which was showing signs of damp) and most importantly the Coal Cellar Conversion (Which my wife and I are very impressed with).

The work was carried out to a high standard by the personnel you sent to the house and I must say they were very polite and thankfully cleaned up all the mess at the end of the working day.

Thank you Rob for the advice you gave us and also having the patience and flexability with the changes we asked for after you started the work.

I would have no problems with recommending your company to family and freinds for any building work needed.

Thank you very much,

Mr and Mrs D Gifford.

Morning Rob,

You may use any of the following.

To whom it may concern:

I had a terraced property that was in need of refurbishing. It required new kitchen, bathroom, complete rewire, new central heating, new ceilings, walls hacked off and re-plastered etc etc. so quite a daunting prospect for some one with no building or DIY experience. What I did not want was a piece meal approach I was looking for someone who was able to do all the work required building, plumbing, heating, electrics, carpentry etc and co-ordinate the whole project, basically a project manager who was a single contact point for all the work. I chose several local builders and invited them to the property to quote for the work. As you can imagine the quotes varied widely, from the absolute ridiculous to quite keenly priced. This is where I first met Rob from Evergrays and from the initial meeting onwards I was impressed with his professional manner. The quotation supplied was the most detailed and the pricing clearly set out.

The work itself was estimated at 4-5wks duration during which time I was constantly updated by Rob on its progress. All the various trades arrived came and went with military precision, any problems were quickly resolved and the whole project progressed soomthly and on time (and on budget!!!).

Ever met a builder who actually turns up on time? Does what he says he's going to do for the price he originally quoted for? Well let me introduce you to Rob from Evergrays. Good reliable builders are like golddust I would recommend Evergrays without hesitation. If your in the market for a builder give him a ring and get him to quote and see if your as impressed as I was from your first meeting.

Regards,
Peter Power

Dear Rob

Just a quick note to thank you for the building work you have recently completed for me. Both I and my husband are over the moon with the extension. You managed the project so professionally and diligently that it run smoothly and on-time. Any changes to plan were discussed fully and I always received revised schedules or costing so I always knew the running costs of the project. Your employees turned up everyday and work liked real troopers to get the extension complete. They were always polite and always cleaned up after themselves at the end of the day. They were hard-working and always explained in detail what they were doing if I would ask. They were very knowledgeable and just very pleasant people.

I would recommend Evergray to my family or friends if they were looking for a professional and efficient company to undertake any building work.

Yours sincerely

Hi Rob

Sorry for the delay but have been up to my eyes in work. Here goes:

"The work that Evergray carried out was excellent - but what impressed us most was the way in which they worked. From the moment they came to provide an estimate to when they arrived on site, when they were working and when they came back to check everything was OK - they were always polite, courteous and helpful, and extremely tidy!!. The end product has provided us with a great additional space to the house and we would have absolutely no problem providing their details - in fact we already have."

Hope this is OK - let me know if you wnat anything else.

Hi,

Reference as promised.

We decided to appoint everygray construction to carry out a double storey extension at our property starting at the end of November. We were really nervous about having builders working at our house as the profession doesn't really have a good name. However, what a pleasant surprise, they turned up at 8.00 every morning and completed a proper full days work, ensuring that by the end of the day the site was cleaned down. We have a young daughter and two fairly new kittens and the boys treated us all including the kittens with complete respect. All of our neighbours kept commenting throughout the work that the boys were friendly and pleasant, and how hard they were working. It was the little things that they did that made the difference, for example we needed to re site the sky dish, and every day before they went home they made sure that we had a satellite signal so my daughter could watch her favourite programs, another example would be putting sand on the drive to ensure that when they washed down the drive it wasn't too slippery with the ice (over the winter period).

I was amazed about how clean they were, we had our living room wall taken out and I was dreading coming home from work that day because of the anticipated mess, however when I walked through the door I was shocked not too see any as it had been cleaned away. During the work that was going on I was heavily pregnant and I was expecting the work to cause me stress, however this was simply not the case. We got on so well with the builders that we miss them being around now. There was still some fairly major work to be carried out when my son was born, ie. plastering, screeding of floor and fitting the bathrooms, I can honestly say that even having a newborn baby around was not a problem for them either. All the tradespeople that came to our house were honest, reliable and pleasant and comfortable to be around.

All the work carried out at our house was completed to a high standard, and we are thrilled with the end result. I can honestly say that I would recommend everygray construction as they are the most trustworthy, hardworking and conscientious builders we have ever met.

Kind Regards

Hi both
As promised my recommendation :
'We are delighted with our new extension, our extended driveway and Everygray Ltd. Rob and the team were polite, professional, punctual, and work was delivered to a high standard. Any issues or concerns were dealt with quickly, and Rob was always on hand to discuss potential options as work progressed.
I feel it is also important to recognise the team - Steve (foreman) & the others worked really hard & well together, and would always check that we were happy with progress. I would have no hesitation in recommending them to friends or family. The extension & driveway was completed quicker than expected
Thank you for a job well done !

Hi Rob

Please use any of the recommendation letter below or the attached photos on
your website - I'm sorry I've taken so long to get around to it. Billy fixed
the hatch, banister, & door seal yesterday as arranged, let me know later
about the gate,

Thanks for everything,

Amanda.

Rob and his team have completed extensive internal and external building
repairs to my house which took around 4 months. Rob manages to combine
professionalism with personal friendly service - I highly recommend
Evergray, and have asked Rob to come back to do more work in my garden.

Every builder was always punctual, polite, communicative, cheerful, and
hard-working. The current work area was cordoned off to reduce the dirt &
dust in the rest of the house, and despite every room bar one becoming a
building site at some point, the builders always treated the house
respectfully as my home. Tools were put away and the work area was made safe
each day before my 4 small children came home from school. Before they left
at the end of the day, they cleared the rubble and swept the dust - they
even brought all their mugs back to the kitchen! Despite the work being the
obvious main priority, Rob and his team took into consideration the effect
of the lengthy work on our living & sleeping logistics, and tried to give us
safe access to as much of the house as possible. Rob frequently came over to
evaluate the progress, but the builders did not need his constant
supervision to work very hard as a team.

Things did not always go according to plan - with a 100 year old house it is
not surprising that some additional problems were uncovered - but the
builders on site always called Rob immediately, and he was usually at the
house assessing the new situation within a few hours. He would then explain
the situation to me, clearly give all of the options available along with
his recommendations, and provide a revised schedule & cost update. I found
Rob's estimates to be accurate with regards to both timings and costs, and
if he said someone would be here on a specific morning I could be sure that
they would arrive as expected.

I am so grateful to Evergray - my house has been transformed from a dingy
dangerous house to a safe fantastic home. From my experience, if you choose
Evergray, you will get excellent work, efficiently executed, from the
friendliest, most trustworthy bunch of builders you could wish for.

Dear Mr. Lewis,
Re: 32 Barry Road, Pontypridd ,
This is just a short letter to thank you for all to work to date on the house and garage. It has been great pleasure to begin improving this property and we have valued the work that your firm has done on it.
Most importantly to us, you have done what you said you would do, when you said you would do it. The care you have taken over consulting us about any issues that have arisen in the course of the work has meant that there were no 'nasty surprises' waiting for us. Your advice about the best way of proceeding has been extremely helpful. While the new garage is the most obvious improvement, we have been glad of the work on the yard that has largely eliminated the problem of dampness in the back of the house. Taking down the chimney, making good the roof, and various internal works have also improved the value of the property. We have been impressed by the quality of the workmanship and the cleanliness of your team. We will certainly come back to you when we are ready for the next stage of the works on the house and would be happy to recommend you to others.

David and Marilyn Parry
